Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank ("RIIB," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit our website, submit a contact or inquiry form, or apply for financing online.
Who we are
Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank is Rhode Island’s central hub for financing infrastructure improvements for municipalities, businesses, and homeowners.
Our principal office is at 275 Promenade Street, Suite 301, Providence, RI 02908. You may contact us at (401) 453-4430 or info@riib.org.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to our public website (including this Next.js site and related pages), online financing application forms, and contact or “get in touch” inquiry forms that send messages to RIIB staff.
It does not cover third-party websites we may link to, investor portals operated by others, or offline processes that are not connected to this website, except where we expressly say otherwise.
Information we collect
Information you provide: When you contact us or submit a financing application, we may collect names, titles, organization names, mailing addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, project descriptions, financial and eligibility details you enter, certifications, and any files you upload (for example PDFs or supporting documents).
Technical and usage data: Like most websites, we and our providers may automatically collect internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, device type, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps. When analytics or advertising tools are enabled with your consent, similar usage data may be collected through cookies and related technologies.
Communications: If you email us or we reply to a form submission, we retain the content of that correspondence as needed to respond and keep business records.
How we use information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries; process and evaluate financing applications; communicate with applicants and partners; operate, secure, and improve the website; meet legal and audit obligations; and understand how the site is used.
With your consent where required, we may also use analytics to measure traffic and engagement, and we may use advertising technologies (including Google Ads and Meta Platforms tools) to measure or deliver marketing about RIIB programs. Optional analytics and advertising tags load only after you accept cookies through our consent banner.
Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies and similar storage help the site function (for example, remembering cookie preferences, securing administrative sessions for staff tools, and load balancing). These are not used for advertising.
Analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics 4) help us understand aggregate visit patterns. Advertising cookies or pixels (such as Google Ads or Meta) may be used in the future to measure campaigns or show relevant ads. We place analytics and advertising technologies only if you choose Accept on our cookie banner. You can Decline optional cookies and continue to use the site, including forms.
Analytics
When you accept optional cookies, we may use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google LLC, to collect usage statistics. Google may process data according to its own privacy policy and terms. You can learn more about Google’s practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
If you decline optional cookies, we do not load Google Analytics on your browser session for this site.
Advertising and marketing technologies
We may use Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) advertising tools, or similar platforms to measure the effectiveness of outreach or to deliver ads about RIIB programs. Those tools, when enabled, load only after you accept optional cookies.
We do not currently require you to create an advertising account to browse the site. Any future pixels or tags will use the same consent choice as analytics (Accept enables optional tracking; Decline keeps essential functionality only).
Contact forms and financing applications
Online financing applications and related uploads are stored in our WordPress content system so staff can review them. We also send staff notification emails (and, where applicable, an applicant confirmation email) through email delivery services such as Resend and/or WordPress mail on our hosting environment.
Contact and inquiry forms are delivered to designated RIIB staff inboxes by email and may also be logged in WordPress for follow-up. Reply-to addresses are typically set to the address you provide so staff can respond directly.
Please do not submit information through the website that you are not authorized to share. Application materials may include sensitive business or personal details; we treat them as confidential business records according to our internal practices and applicable law.
Service providers
We use vendors that process information on our behalf, which may include website hosting, content management (WordPress), email delivery, analytics (Google), video embedding (for example Wistia), and similar infrastructure providers.
These providers are permitted to use information only to perform services for us, subject to their agreements with us and applicable law. They may process data in the United States or other jurisdictions where they operate.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with program partners or advisors when needed to evaluate or administer financing (for example, coordinating with state agencies involved in a program), with service providers as described above, or when required by law, regulation, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Aggregate or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you may be used for reporting and public communications about our programs.
Retention
We retain inquiry and application records for as long as needed to process your request, meet program, audit, and legal requirements, and resolve disputes. Exact retention periods vary by record type and will be confirmed with RIIB’s legal and records practices.
Analytics data is retained according to the settings we configure with Google and similar providers, and according to those providers’ policies when you have consented to optional cookies.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for the public site and access controls for staff systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please contact us if you believe your interaction with us has been compromised.
Children’s privacy
Our website and financing applications are intended for adults acting on behalf of municipalities, businesses, homeowners, and similar parties. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact info@riib.org so we can delete it where appropriate.
Your choices
Cookie banner: Use Accept or Decline on our cookie banner to allow or refuse optional analytics and advertising technologies. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage) so we can respect it on later visits. Clearing site data may prompt the banner again.
Browser controls: You may also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect site features.
Communications: You may ask us to update or correct contact details you provided, or request information about an application you submitted, by emailing info@riib.org. We will respond consistent with applicable law and program requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will change when we post revisions. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes notice of the revised policy, except where applicable law requires additional steps.
